Pain Relief??!!

Hi all,

I came off my period on Tuesday but since yesterday I’ve had such horrendous back pain, the bottom of my back is really sore even to touch, and I have sciatic pain all the way down from the bum to my thighs.

I’m on Naproxen and co-codamol but nothing is touching the pain. A hot water bottle eases it slightly but where the bottom of my back is so sore to touch, it hurts to have the hot water pressed up on it. It’s just agony. Can anyone suggest any other pain relief??

Thank you xxx

Ugh its awful when you can't get on top of it.

A few things I've heard help others is to take buscopan. I think it depends on where the pain is originating from but apparently this can help if it's starting from spasms.

I've just bought a little tens machine. It's like a big pen that you hold against the area (or acupuncture point) for 30 secs. I find this really helps with the type of pain I get which is like nerve pain that just builds and builds.

I also find heat helps so a warm bath if it's comfortable to lie in it. Some people use heat pads but I use the red tiger balm. I think it helps a bit.

I also try to do some gentle yoga. Very gentle stretches and big deep breaths.yoga with Adriene on YouTube has some lovely videos for back pain.

I hope you find something that helps.
