Not yet diagnosed with endo but docs are pretty sure that’s what’s wrong

reeeeeally struggling with the pain at the moment even though my period finished a week ago the pain is still unbarable😭

i’m prescribed cocodamol from my doc but hate taking them during the day as they make me really nauseous! the only other thing i use is my hot water bottle and heat patches but not much help long term

any help about coping with the pain will be appreciated all i want to do is cry!!!

Hi! I am in the same boat, suspected endo...I used to take cocodomol and also experienced really bad nausea at work that I couldn’t focus...the Dr put me on Codeine tablets instead as the paracetamol is the one that was causing me to have nausea, I feel much better with codeine alone.

Have you been referred to pain management? I am seeing a consultant and it’s been helpful. They offered me tricyclics antidepressant at a low dose as they are helpful for pain. I didnt respond well to them so they gave me a TENS machine which has helped, look it up if you’ve not heard of it.

I asked the GP to refer me to a specialist Endo clinic as the general gynae clinic wasn’t very helpful. I am under a BSGE clinic now and it’s much better treatment despite me having no diagnosis. They have prescribed me Norgeston which I haven’t tried yet.

Hope this helps!! 😀

Your welcome!! Yes, I have also tried previous hormone pills but my body literally rejects them!! I am trying to heal my body through dietary changes. I recently stopped consuming dairy products especially cows milk as it contains oestrogen. Endo grows when exposed to oestrogen, I have switched to Cashew milk but only tried it today for the first time, it tasted fine and has calcium etc. I also take Turmeric tablets to help reduce inflammation. Take care!!

Hi sorry to hear how much pain you're experiencing! Have you tried codeine?? I find that I can still function as normal and it does relieve a lot of the pain each month. I guess everyone is different and its finding the right pain management for you but don't be afraid to go back if you haven't found your source of pain relief! Hope you get it sorted soon xxx

That's OK! I only once took codeine and a few hours after I was extremely sick and dizzy so it doesn't with for me.. I used to find mefenamic acid worked well or just dosing up in between hours with paracetamol x2 and ibuprofen x1 I think.. but like In between eachother but as time has gone on its got worse and worse and pain killers are useless so are mefenamics now.. codeine works a treat when I'm in agony! Xx

Hi Manfredi1234,

here are some ideas that I've tried for pain:

-healthy healthy Low FODMAP diet.

-take nice warm bath in evening

-electric hot water bottle (modern wheaty bag) from the pharmacy is great to chucking under your jumpy during the day, if you sit while at work.

-Sounds crazy, but deep breathing, sounds rediculas, cheap, and stupid, but it definately helps slow the pain down.

-pelvic physio

-yoga stretches

-electric blanket at night is nice

-for me, I didn't realise that the waist band was causing me grief. After I started wearing baggy clothes, I felt an ENOURMOUS relief from pain, this was because my bowels were causing me pain from my endo.

Hope you find something that works for you.

I did have codine for pain after one of my operations, but for far to long, don't do my mistake, I finally did a poo as large as a vase.

supplements are great.

Fish oils are good. there would be lots that are good though.

I’m in the exact same boat as you. My referral to gynae is taking a seriously long time depite it being an urgent referral. I’ve been in constant pain for about 4-5 weeks now and any time I have gone to my drs for help they have told me “You’ve been given co-codamol and extra codeine. You dont need anything else. Just wait for your referral”

I can strongly say the pain is getting to me, making my depression worse. I’m at the point where I refuse to take the cocodamol because it isn’t helping and my body is getting used to it so I am solely relying on heat - except, I cant have my hot water bottle at work 😭

I hope everything gets sorted out for you soon. Much love xx

GPs who don’t take it seriously are the worst!! i’ve got an appointment next week and i’m not leaving until they help me haha

i have an attachment to my hot water bottle😂 i use heat pads during the day when i’m at work they don’t have the same effect but still better than nothing!

Hope you get help soon stay strong! x
