Hi , I’m waiting for my hysterectomy operation and wondered if anyone knew how long the wait usually is from pre assesment to surgery

It varies, my lap in june was 6 weeks after my pre assessment but my lap next month will have been 11 weeks from my pre assessment x

Hi Kim,

I had a hysterectomy last year for a suspicious tumour in right ovary/fibroids and Endo...I was told 2-3 weeks from pre-op due to potential malignancy.

I actually called and got a cancellation so it was a two week wait.

That was in the North-East and every region has its own waiting lists etc

Your pre-op is valid for 18 weeks...just had one myself on Friday I’m awaiting another round of excision for Endo.

I know the waiting is really hard,my heart goes out to you.

Call the consultant’s secretary today and ask if there are any cancellations and if you’re able to go in with short notice,let them know...it really is a case of who shouts the loudest.
