Hey everyone,

I have to go for my second laparoscopy in a few days and remember suffering really badly with the gas after the last surgery, so was wondering if anyone had and tips or tricks on how to help it?

Peppermint tea! It helped so much for me after my lap. That, and keeping up with my painkillers. I alternated paracetamol and ibuprofen every four hours for the first few days and that seemed to help, along with the tea.

I bought some windeeze for after my lap last month and honestly I didn't suffer with hardly any gas pains like I have after previous laps (not endo related) x

In addition to what's already been suggested, for me, massaging around the area and taking long deep breaths helped. As did trying to get up and move, which is obviously not easy but I think just getting upright rather than lying can help.

Hopefully it won't be as bad this time though. Good luck 🤞🏻

The thing that helped me was one of those rice-filled things that you microwave that go around your neck – I also drank peppermint tea but not sure if it helped.

I second the peppermint capsules as soon as you can. So different with them compared to first lap without!
