Waiting for my first lap

So I'm at the hospital waiting for my lap and I'm so scared, I'm not good with hospitals and never have been.

I'm worried that if they don't find Endo then I'm going to be back to square one.

Has anybody got any advice? X

Hey! I think a lot of women were worried they wouldn’t find any endo because of the way doctors have treated us... even when I was waiting to go down to theatre, my consultant still didn’t believe I was in as much pain as I was and didn’t think it was endo. Guess what, it was! He was amazed how much he found 😂

Try not to worry or think that they won’t find anything. It’s one thing to rule out if it isn’t endo. Deal with that when you wake up ❤️ Good luck xxx

Thank you I'm just worried because none of the scans they have done have shown up Endo and the cameras haven't.

Thanks for your advice means a lot :) x

Hi sweetie, I'm assuming by lap you are referring to Laparoscopy correct? Where they see if you have Endometriosis? I'm right there with you hon, mines Thursday and like you I am scared also..

I completely understand what you are saying about being set back to square one but you won't really be because you'll have a answer..which as a wise friend told me, knowledge is power!

For me the not knowing is worse and I'm telling myself your doing this for a answer which will lead to correct treatment plan..I know you're scared love but it will all be over before you know it! I'm sending prayers and support to you!

Your very welcome hon!! Oh I know I feel the same way.. the waiting sucks.

My doctor's didn't find anything on scans either but they did find a large fibroid, I had my doc and a female practitioner suspect Endo so they sent a referral to a obgyn and my gyno did a exam confirmed fibroid and suggested lap..I got lucky I think since so many women have had to fight for a lap. From what I've read and researched symptoms and the disease do not go hand in hand..many have bad symptoms and light Endo, others have bad Endo and light to no symptoms. Varys for each of us ladies. I have had so many different symptoms it's nutts.. sorry for yammering on. Hang in there hon

Yeah I had to wait over a year for a lap, going to try stay positive and not worry too much. I've heard all sorts about symptoms some people have them really extreme, I've had really bad symptoms and ended up in hospital in May due to pain in my pelvis, thanks :)x
