So I had my first lap on Wednesday and had the mirena fitted. I have been told I had endo on my left ovary and the back of my womb, this was lasered away. I'm still in pain from the cramping I'm guessing from the mirena any indications on when this will ease up???
Usually it takes about 3 months for the coil to settle, If it doesn't settle after 3 months you should contact your doctor. I didn't have a good experience with the coil but everyone is different. Good luck and I hope it works for you!
Thanks for replying!... The cramps are quite intense however I'm taking co drydomal every 4 hours but they wear off just before! Going to stick with it though hopefully it's worth it x
It will give you cramps for a while its normal but make sure you don't feel a pushing feeling on your cervix. Do you have a string hanging out from your cervix? If you do keep an eye on it and make sure its not getting longer. If it is then go to your doctor right away. Sometimes our body rejects the foreign object they put in and it pushes it out (what happened to me) but it doesn't happen to everyone or course. My story is horrible and i don't want to scare you. Just keep you safe. Hope you are feeling better soon. x
Hi, i had a mirena fitted last week and like you are getting bad cramps. I have endo on back of uterus to ovary and between uterus and bowel. It was seen on a mri scan. Im also on desogesterel pill and will stop if after 1 month as consultant doesnt want chance of endo flare up. Ive been told that mirena is great for endo in/near uterus but it may not control endo further away as it only stops ovulation in 1 in 5 women. Can anyone give me hope that it willbe sucessful as i cant stand oral contraceptives because to many side effects?
So just a update if anyone is interested.... I had the mirena coil removed just a week after having it fitted!.... My experience was awful and I personally do not recommend the coil to anyone! I was feeling sick, blurred vision, hormonal , cramps , back ache, tummy ache, pelvic pain, dizziness.... The list is endless!.... So glad I got it removed never again x
I am in a similar position, I had a mirena fitted for birth control years ago and ended up in a total mess in a&e for emergency removal. On the list for my first lap to diagnose and treat suspected Endo and have been advised to have the mirena fited during that procedure. I am sooooo torn and want to do the best I can for my body but my instincts scream at me not to do it.
I salute every one of you on this journey, the pains and list of things we deal with on this crappy Endo journey are more than enough for most of us to come to terms with then we have to make such big decisions about how we try to manage it. It's nothing short of exhausting, emotional and down right impossible
