Just wondering if any of my endo friends have had hot flushes and night sweats following laparoscopy? I had my first one 2 wks ago. I have
severe endometriosis. My surgery went well, they removed it all and did some bowel work.
Wondered if you could suggest anything to help? It’s affecting my sleep and with the sexy hospital socks it’s making it worse. Got to wear them for another 4 wks, but needs must.

did you have any hormone treatment pre lap? I had treatment pre op (partial hysterectomy) for 3 months but only had my first hot flush post op! this time round I have add back HRT and the hot flushes have been very well controlled. I hope this helps.
I was on the injection prior to my opp but the last one I refused. So was over a month ago. I did get them while I was on injection but it’s been really bad since opp. Just gutted as healing really well. Just the sweats making me loose sleep. Was wondering if it’s just my hormones been all over with everything I’ve had done?
mine took a good 6 months before they started to calm down and a full year before disappearing completely - but don't put too much into that, my body just seems to do weird stuff. I guess perhaps our chemical menopauses subside at different rates for us all ? and what you say about hormones being all over the place makes good sense to me. I used to keep a sheet in the freezer to wrap myself in and pop the other I had "on" back in ready for the next flush (in a ziplock plastic bag). Having a fan by the bed is useful ( bet you've got that covered already) . I also used over the counter meds to aid sleep (the herbal ones didn't help me but might be worth a try). shame you have to wear those hot" calf squeezers" all night, could you put another pair in the freezer ready to swap? To help others understand my hot flushes I tried to make them laugh by calling them tropical surges, superwomen power up's etc and would warn my partner why I was leaving the room by saying "I'm off to cuba" that way he was able to prevent (unaware) visitors from entering the kitchen and finding me with my head in the freezer and my trousers round my ankles. I know this isn't necessarily the kind of stuff you were after, but I hope it made you smile . A scientist friend (not medical) used a heat detection camera to measure one of my milder hot flushes, for fun. During what was a mid range flush, my skin temperature measured nearly 8c hotter than before. it's no wonder we get the sweats! sorry if i'm waffling . this time round my legs have become unreliable (gosrelin has improved it loads) I've become pretty housebound I don't have a car and walking is difficult and painful, it's so nice to talk to somebody.
Thanks so much for your advise and yes you did make me laugh and smile 😃 so thank you for that. Us women don’t get it easy do we. I hope things get better for u soon too and I’m here if you need to chat, I’ve got lots of time as got another 4 and half wks off work ha ha
