Feeling rubbish 1 month post op, is this normal?

Hi ladies

I’m really hoping someone can give me a bit of advice here. Im 4 weeks post lap today and I had the mirena fitted at the same time. Everything was going pretty well until last week. I’ve been having really bad stomach cramps in the morning and need to rush to the bathroom. Plus a sharp pain either side of my belly button throughout the day. I’ve lost my appetite completely but I’m still making myself eat. I’ve been feeling completely light headed and have fainted. I’ve been bleeding since the op non stop so I don’t know if that’s causing a lot of the symptoms I just don’t feel right at all and I have absolutely no energy.

I’m already in the dog house at work for having so much time off and HR are on my case now. Is it normal for me to be feeling this way or should I see someone?

I could go back to the hospital and see the nurses but I think they mainly deal with incision wounds so not sure they would be able to help?

But it’s a 2 week wait to see my GP or longer for the consultant. I just really don’t know what to do!

Thanks in advance for any help you can give x

Sorry to hear you're feeling awful :(

It doesn't sound right, but then I haven't had the coil fitted after my lap. The bleeding is probably what's making you feel dizzy etc.

If you're in the UK ring NHS 111, they can then ask questions and dependent on you're answers they can call an ambulance, book an appointment at your local walk in centre (out of hours GP) which is quicker than waiting, or if you're registered with your GP they can fast track same day appointments. I've found the service really good especially with fastrack GP or the our of hours clinic.

Hope you find out what's wrongxx

This is exactly what I felt a couple of weeks post lap. Pain on either side of my belly and urinating issues. So I went to walk in clinic cause my GP had no appointments.....they said likely UTI and I insisted they culture the urine. They put me on Sulla pills (standard treatment for UTI) but after 4 days no better. I pulled up the lab report and I have antibiotic resistant E. coli ESBL. So Ended up in the Emergency to be put on a different antibiotic it doesn’t seem to be helping, got in to see my GP and he ordered KUB ultrasound to check my kidneys etc. Still feeling like shit and gotta wait till tomorrow to get the results. If it is in my kidneys I will likely end up on the hospital for IV antibotics to fight this superbug.

You should got get anurin culture done!!!!! I bet you have the same problem as I do.

The bacteria I have is hospital related. More likely to happen with catherization.

I called my hospital and they said it’s just hormones and to wait for them to settle down but I can’t live like this and the symptoms are just getting worse! I went to the walk in today but they wouldn’t see me because I’ve been feeling faint and they said I would need bloods taken which they can’t do. Going to call 111 and see if they can get me in with my GP sooner. I will definitely ask them to check for that! I didn’t have a catheter but you never know.
