Endo belly ??

Hey everyone!

I’m just looking for some advice. I was diagnosed in October 2017, and previous to my diagnosis I only really had bad bloating just before my period.

However, over the past few weeks/months my stomach is very bloated most days, and it’s also painful- but not like period pains, just uncomfortable pain. Some times i can feel it down to my thighs too.

I was at the nurse yesterday and she’s tested me for a gluten intolerance, but I’m just wanting to ask if anyone else experiences this. Could it be endo related which is just getting worse, or something else??

Thanks for reading and any replies in advance

Xxx

Yes terrible bloating!

I have gone gluten and dairy free for past year that has helped alot.

I also was told by pharmacist about taking buscopan and i was gobsmacked it works a treat.

I take them as soon as i come on two three times a day for first three days and the bloating is nigh on gone

Thanks for your reply lulububs!

I think I should definitely try cutting out gluten and dairy, but I know that’s a big thing.

I’ll also try buscopan! And hope that helps too.

It seems like since my diagnostic lap, my symptoms have actually got worse rather than better!

Xx

Hiya, I also have bloating, it was my reason for going to the doctor, I constantly look like I’m 6 months pregnant! But it’s definitely endo related, I think everyone just experiences different symptoms. Hope you get some relief soon x

Thanks for your reply!

Its reassuring to know it’s a “normal” endo symptom. It’s a new symptom that I seem to be having every day, and I too look more pregnant than my 7 month pregnant sister.. lol!

Hope you’re doing ok. It’s a horrible illness.

Xx

At least you have some idea of why you look pregnant anyway haha! I think I could cope with anything else except the belly, probably because it’s so visible! x

Yeah it’s very annoying! Especially trying to find clothes that will fit me when I’m a size 8 and then when I’m bloated! The pains always been the hardest part for me, but this bloating is slowly becoming a bigger nuisance!! Xx

I constantly feel bloated and it’s horrible as I used to be a size 8 and now I’m a size 12 and just live in baggy clothes. Some days it’s not as bad but before and during my period I look pregnant haha xx

I’m the exact same as you princessk09! I’m a size 8, but as soon as it comes on I’m bursting out of my jeans! Mine seems to be there every single day just now. So I’m hoping it’s going to settle down! Hope you’re doing ok & thanks for your reply! Xx

I think going on the pill last year didn’t help my weight gain but I’m off it now and just so bloated. I can’t even wear jeans anymore so leggings are the comfiest thing ever haha xx

Yeah the pill made me gain weight that’s one of the reasons why I came off it! I don’t take any form of birth control just now. I usually find myself unbuttoning my jeans and tying a hooded top around my weighst works a treat 😂! Xx

Hi there!

Bloating is a common symptom, and also depends on your body and how endo is grown inside. Mine was terrible and before my surgery I looke like a proper pregnant woman! The bloating wa asi hat at times that I couldn’t really get up from bed sooo painful, that was due to endo, now this is my 3 month after the surgery and the bloating is gone I was left with bad stretch mark though...

Cold packs for me worked a little bit but nothing else really...

Hope you find something than can hel you.

All the best xxx

I also for Igor to tell you that I have gone gluten green and dairy free red meat free... it is obviously working! This is my 3rh month into it and it has helped a lot but mind you I have had my surgery already. It definitely helps specially not eating gluten.

Give it a try and see what happens! Having endo means trying everything to see what can be helpful with the horrible symptoms.

Thanks so much for your reply paopetite. I think my diet is something I need to consider and make changes to! Hopefully then I’ll get some relief. I’m glad to hear your symptoms are getting easier to manage, long may it continue xx

Hi ladies,

I also suffer with severe bloating! I go from a flat toned stomach when I wake up to looking 6 months pregnant by the evening!

I’m also trying to find ways to cope with it but I have found that eating smaller meals and healthy snacks earlier in the day and eating nothing after 5pm has helped. Also peppermint tea seems to help with the stretched pains/trapped wind-like pains that come with bloating and drinking lots of water.

Although exercise doesn’t help take the bloating down, I find that it makes me feel better about the way I look.

I’m yet to try going gluten and dairy free but I think that’s the next step. For those of you that have managed it, how have you found using the replacements such as almond milk etc?

xx

I’ll give pepermint tea a try, thanks Bethany Ann! I’ll also try smaller portions in the hope that helps too. I’m also seeking help about going gluten/dairy free.. it’s a big commitment to make, but if it’s worth it then that’s all that matters! Xx

It’s probably worth trying daily Fybogel for a few weeks? After about 2 or 3 weeks I found it made a difference.

I have the exact same problem. Waiting on lap to see if I have endo. My tummy blows up so big I look heavily pregnant! I eat healthy and go to the gym regulary so I've bought some "hold it all in knickers " until I have my lap done!

I'm so self conscious of my 'bump' but these really do help with your apperience and confidence! Xx
