Surgical glue & bathing (added photo of my incisions) belly button incision / infection

After 5weeks I’ve been told I can have a bath with salt to try & heal this wound. It’s better when cleaned but as soon as I’ve moved about it weeps again & ends up like this. I’ve just finished a weeks course of antibiotics.

Has anyone else had this? Has anyone any tips to get it to heal?

Have you tried asking to see the nurse at your GP surgery. They would be the best people to advise. Nurses are often better than doctors at this sort of thing.

I agree with NW248, however it sounds like you've already done that.

Mine wasn't that bad but it did weep - can you bath to remove the glue? Or does it weep around the glue?. I used wound dressing (the stuff in first aid kits) it's the material from the absorbent bit inside a plaster but you can get it as large pads. Cut a bit off about 1cm by 2cm and rolled it so it can fit comfortably in belly button, then use colloidal silver spray (amazon - I swear by the stuff for it's antibacterial properties, and it feel like water, I find gels / creams dissolve the scab completely), spray the rolled absorbent dressing until wet then put into belly button, cover if necessary, cut smaller if it feels stretched. Replace twice a day, use a little colloidal sliver spray if it doesn't come out easily. Repeat until the wound doesn't weep. I think it takes longer to heal because it doesn't get any air to air dry. Note though - I don't think you can do this with the glue still on, if it weeps below the glue you may need that removed to allow it to heal, so it doesn't get infected again; if weepy stuff can come out then potentially horrible bacteria can get in.

Thanks ladies this is helpful. I’ve been to my GP nurse twice. And out of hours at the hospital. The glue lifted out. I cleared the gunk again last night & it did weep through the night & is wet now but no blood. I think I’m just going to have to repeat the process. I see my consultant a week on Thursday so if possible will wait to see him. I’ll look up the Silver stuff you mention.

My Mum used to have something called silver skin & it made like a layer of skin over cuts, sounds similar.

I’m sat outside with the wounds shades but getting fresh air!

I think the one your mother had is like a liquid plaster with sliver in which works better than normal plasters however it's pretty much the same as glue plasters - which you've just had removed.

The colloidal silver is a liquid, in suspension - it comes as a skin spray, just water type in a bottle, gel, cream, soap etc. So you use it as you would those things normally, it's not harmful so can be used internally and externally. I get Natures Greatest Secret from Amazon sold by Optimised Energetics. It's my go to even when camping, and we even use it on our dog cuts / grazes etc.

Ordering the silver spray. There are many varieties. Is in the blue bottle? £12 100ml?

I know there are so many! sorry I didn't reply sooner.

Which one did you go for? It's the ppm (concentration) that matters the most. They all should work the same as it's only colloidal silver and water for the spray.

No worries. It’s a Higher Nature brand. Comes Monday. 2 of my cuts are red so looking forward to trying it. My BBH (belly button hole) is doing good so I’ll try there too. Salt bath 3 tomorrow.

it'll take a few days to notice, but do use my method above for putting it in your belly button otherwise it'll just be all wet and horrible!

Hello, I just came across this and wanted to ask how did this heal? My girlfriend had this surgery a few days ago and it looks like this with brown too. There is no pain or smell, nor swelling. Did you overcome it? Thank you and my best regards
