Healing time for belly button incision (lap) and weeping

Hi, just wondering how long the belly button incision should take to heal following a laparoscopy? And what is 'normal'. The belly button incision seems to be taking the longest to heal compared to the other incisions. And there is some foul smelling weeping (mild). Not sure if this should be a concern. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

Hi, I had redness around mine and they said it looked infected so I had antibiotics. On Friday (day 11) the nurse cut my dissolvable stitch because it was very tight. I literally felt better immediately! By Saturday morning it had dried out and was less pink. See if the GP can take a look or a nurse. Hope all goes well.

Mine took 2 weeks to stop weeping. There was quite a lot of fluid in mine. I had a slight infection and went on antibiotics, i had mild fever and felt rubbish. Had to get the wound redressed twice by a nurse. The second time she cut the dressing in half to let air in and worked a treat to dry it out. If you can get air into it should help. Keep an eye on your temperature. The nurse said mine didn't have a foul smell but if it did its a sign of infection so get it checked x

Hello. I had a laparoscopic hysterectomy 2 weeks ago. The three incisions on my belly appear to be healing but the belly button one opened a couple days ago and has been weeping since and mild pain. I went to wound care and they have me using a special dressing (they didn't think it was infected) but wondering if your problem has healed yet.

Hi, I did go to get mine checked out (was about 3 months ago now). The GP looked at it and he said it looked okay but took a swab just to be sure. The results did show an infection which I was given antibiotics for and it cleared it up very quickly. If your concerned then I wonder if you could ask for a swab too? x

Thank you for your response. I have an appt with both my wound specialist and my gyno on Thursday. If the weeping is still going on, I'm going to press for more.
