Smear test today and I'm in agony!

Hi ladies, I had a smear test this morning and I'm still in really bad pain 13 hours later :( it hurt during it and straight after I started with severe cramps and shooting pains in my pelvis, a few hours later I started getting what I can only describe as painful pressure/ deep ache in my bum which I still have now. Anyone else experienced this before? The pain is actually close to what I'd feel during my period it's awful :( x

Use hot water bottle padding on you butts nd lower back hope it will soothe mostly its air trapped inside 🤔

I always get pain during a smear test and period likr cramps for a few days after. I just use my hot water bottle and painkillers, dulls the pain slightly but not very effective. I think it might have a connection to endo as most women don't feel pain during or after a smear just a slight discomfort. Im a nursing student so have seen a good few smears getting done and the women mostly said it was uncomfortable but not painful. I think sometimes with endo some ladies have fibromyalgia too which can make them more sensitive to pain. Apparently it can occur at anytime, personally I believe I got it after having the implant as things that shouldnt cause me too much pain can leave me in agony. I used to have a very strong pain threshold, I gave birth without pain relief and did not scream or shout. But now for instance if I have a cold I feel dreadful, all my bones hurt and my endometriosis pain symptoms have definitely gotten worse. One of my friends got fibromyalgia after a traumatic labour. But I understand how you are feeling, I absolutely dread getting a smear or any kind of swab taken from down there as I am left in intense pain for days afterwards.

Thankfully I've woken up feeling better :) I have pain during and after intercourse too (sorry tmi) could that be the same reason? x

Thought it was just me! I had a smear a few weeks ago and nearly cried. The nurse really made me bleed as well. She said when I was wincing that she was being thorough as the new test needs plenty of cells and she didn't want me to come back, then she said you may need a pad as you are bleeding a bit. I was in proper pain all night and moderate pain for the next two days, lots of hot water bottles and baths. I spotted for about 3 days. It was after that I found my odd pain episodes began to become more frequent so I am wondering if something was pushed or pressed and angered.

I don't recall any other smear being such an ordeal. I did have a little cry afterwards, it left me feeling very vulnerable and shaken.

My previous smear test was uncomfortable but not painful and I definitely didn't have pain afterwards either, I didn't bleed but found it extremely painful mainly afterwards
