is it usually so much more painful if you have endometriosis and adanymiosis

Hi
Sorry it’s been a rough time.
I used to find it difficult for smear tests, although pain didn’t last that long.
Have you tried a warm bath with lavender, might relax things a bit.
🤞 you feel better soon.
Having a smear for me is so painful, it also brings on a bleed, I take pain relief before I go in and tell them it’s always sore for me. Even the bit where they scrape is agony. I’m assuming it’s because I have gynae problems 🤷♀️
I've got the most awful trauma from a smear test but it's not the Dr's fault. He was lovely and nobody knew my uterus was retroflexed and retroverted at the time. You do not have to let them do the insertion. You can take the speculum and do it in your time.
And as an aside don't leave them to yank the speculum out either! I made that mistake last time. I won't forget that in 5 to 60 years.
Thank you for your reply. It is hurting six days after having it done x
Have you tried Relactagel? I was prescribed those after one really bad smear test. The first one hurt like blazes but by the end of the packet they didn't hurt anymore. Something else to try could be massage for your abdomen and under carriage incase everything is still in spasm/ contracted. I know the last thing you want is to go back for another one to let them have a look at what they've done. They can't tell anyway. They just say it's red and irritated and do more swabs and send you off again.
Something I did in desperation was get a tiny syringe and swoosh avocado oil with vitamin E up my vagina. Although it helped its not Dr recommended. You can upset the balance in there.
I wish I could be more help. I know how bad the pain was for myself. 😭
