Has anyone been prescribed diclofenac? I've been taking it for a few days but reading up on side effects and not sure I want to be on this. Feeling a bit spacy too but that could be because I'm tired.

I used to take diclofenac but for something else and I attribute it in part to some nasty stomach issues I now have. I would say if it’s short term it’s fine but I personally wouldn’t want to be on it long term x
Hello! I took it for a while but like any drug that’s in the same group it can be harsh on your stomach. I’m now on naproxen instead which helps more than diclofenac but it’s to be taken with food because it can have side effects otherwise. I used to get heart palpitations on diclofenac until my dr suggested trying the suppository of it after a few of their patients had said what a difference it made to pelvic pain when giving it this way. I didn’t get any side effects but my pain worsened and so I was changed to different medications. If you’re concerned just take it when you really need it, with or after food or try the suppository if you’re willing. I think most people are pretty desperate for help when they finally agree but regret not budging sooner!! Any tablet can have side effects but it’s on a person to person basis so potentially you could have some, none or all of them even from paracetamol.x
I was prescribed the suppositories last weekend. Sunday night was fine, took the next one Monday morning and all Monday day i had an orangey oil leaking out of my bum, I didn’t take anymore and let it settle down. I then took another one on Wednesday night and I had bad stomach pains kind of like the pains when you think you need diarrhoea (sorry) but I was fine once it dissolved. I’m only taking it when my pain is bad because it does feel uncomfortable x
I have been on diclofenac for a few years now and I have only had positive results. It definitely helps reduce the severity of my pain.
