Pain in side

Does anyone else have really bad stabbing pain in their side during period? I'm on day 2 of my period, yesterday was just normal pains like I get every month but today I've had a stabbing pain in my left side. It started low down which panicked me as I have a history of ectopic pregnancy but it's sort of moved towards my hip. It's better after drinking wine but obviously this is not the ideal solution and I'm worried that drinking has just masked the pain... my period is also really light which is weird, it started heavy yesterday but has just gone really light today.

Sorry for the long rambling post, I just really don't know if it's normal pain and I'm just panicky about everything.

Hi I’m exactly the same, had 6 months of it now, I’m lying here now in absolute agony after cocodamol has failed to touch the side. I saw my GP earlier in the week, he’s referred me to a gynae. I have my cervical screening in the morning, I’m going to have to beg for them to do something with me because I’m in extreme continuous pain and have been since Saturday. I’d suggest you see your GP ASAP so that you don’t get to this stage x
