Possible incisional hernia after lap?!

Has anyone suffered from an incisional hernia after laparoscopy? I am 9 weeks post op and my belly has been very leaky and had an infection that took a while to clear. I now have what looks like some red tissue protruding from it, had lots of discomfort and trouble going to the toilet. Would anyone recognise it if I post a photo?

Thanks in advance x

Hi MissyTx,

Please do go see your GP or consultant if you are concerned, especially with the history of infection. It's best to get it checked out by a professional as soon as you can.

Take care!

I’m sorry that you are going through this. I had a protrusion after my lap - I’ll PM you a pic so you can see if it’s the same (it’s kind of gory, sorry!). I was really worried about infection but tests came back clear & it did eventually go back to normal. I would definitely recommend going back to the hospital if you are concerned about infection, so they can put your mind at ease xx
