So today is my first Laparoscopy I’ve been a nervous rock leading up to it but today I’m feeling fine but that might be because I’m still sat in the waiting room waiting for the nurse. Thank you all for the support and advice that has been given to me from you lovely people.. if anyone has any final advice for the surgery and waking up and recovery would still be most grateful ❤️x

You’ll be okay! I know it’s scary but try not to panic - it’ll be over before you think. When you wake up I won’t lie, you will be sore but when you get home I recommend using a hot water bottle and getting in some comfy clothes. Nothing too tight as you’ll still be swollen a little. It can make you a little nauseous, but keep drinking water and it’ll pass. Also, don’t panic if you start getting a period a couple of days after - it is known to induce a period even when you’re not on. With regards to recovery, don’t do too much too soon. I had mine on a Wednesday and on the Friday I was trying to get up and around town but that made me worse. Only do things when you feel you can do it. Thinking of you - my inbox is open if you need to talk x

I recovered okay. It's been nearly a year since I had my first one but it looks like I'm going to be having a second one soon. I was sore for a while, I couldn't do anything for myself for a while, but that's because my body is awful at healing itself quickly. As long as you've got someone around to help you, you'll be okay. I was so scared when I went in cause I was only 17, but I spoke to my surgeon, told her why I was worried and she went through everything with me. Also when I went into the theatre, my BP started getting too high because I was panicking, and they were so kind. They talked me through everything and one of them even held my hand until I went under. It'll be okay!
