Period after lap

Hey, so I had my first lap 4weeks ago today and needed to delay my period for it so was taking northisterone. They didn't tell me that I needed to continue it after so I started a period 3days after. This period was fairly light so I thought this is great.

Yesterday I started another period and it's extremely painful and heavy again. Is this normal after a lap? I thought by having the endometriosis cauterized would help with this?

I'm yet to have a follow up with my consultant to discuss the results of my lap as was only told bits as I was waking up from the GA.
