So I yesterday I had my laparoscopy to drain my cyst on both ovaries. My appointment was at 11.30. I had my surgery around 4.20 as I was last on the list and they forgot me.

Had my surgery the anaesthetics were amazing Amy my gynaecologist was brill she came and spoke to me before. The staff at the hospital were awful.

When I got out of surgery. I remember coming round and hearing a phone call telling my husband to come collect me. Within half an hour of coming round I was home as the ward closed at 8. And I was out around 6. When I got home my dressing leaked blood and the skin between my belly bottom and incision was spilt. Had district nurses out. I didn’t get given no after care advice or dressing or pain killers. Been an absolute nightmare. Is this normal

Hospital behaviour. Ive never had surgery before. And this was bizarre.

This is definitely not normal in my experience, I stayed overnight after both of my laps but certainly you should have been given more time than this to recover before being sent home. Xxx

It’s put me off for life. Luckily I had my husband to take care of me.

I'm so sorry to hear this - it definitely isn't normal to be sent home so soon after any type of surgery like this, especially after you've had anaesthetic. I want to phone the hospital and complain about the way you've been treated!

Is your husband able to phone your GP or Gynaecologist at the hospital first thing tomorrow to let them know what's happened? By rights you should be back in hospital getting the proper after care and your wound seen to. Let us know if we can help with anything X X X X

Thanks for your reply. I work in care and I would never treat any1 in this way. I’m just upset and want to forget it. And get better at home. I think it’s give me a phobia for life. I am going to tell my gynaecologist. And tell her what happened x

What a shame Sherry, it sounds really horrible. I've had 3 surgeries and can totally understand your feelings on this. Definitely a good idea to let your gynaecologist know, take good care of yourself and hope you can recover gently at home X X X X

So sorry you have been treated this way. It definitely isnt right.

I would suggest contacting the hospital and putting in a complaint or contacting your local PALS an letting them know what has happened.

I hope you start to feel better soon. An defo gt your incisions looked at if you need to x
