Right so I don't know where else or how else to ask this but it's beginning to worry me and I wondered if anyone else has had this or similar.
A few times recently, I've felt pressure in my stomach that makes me pain worse and I feel like I suddenly really need to use the toilet or something because I have pulling/pushing pain down my back, hips and pelvis. I go to the toilet and nothing seems to happen but when i strain, clots come out (sometimes just one, sometimes a few which are smaller). These relieve some of the pushing/pulling pain so that I'm able to go back to my desk in work however they worry me as I feel that I have to try and push them out?
Is this a normal symptom? I need advice. I've got my first Laparoscopy end of March and my pain has been getting worse over the past month and I've been on and off bleeding for about 3 weeks too.
Im currently on birth control taken back to back so not supposed to be bleeding and I've been taking birth control for over 3 years but it seems to be getting ineffective (much like my pain killers too.)
Any suggestions on how to relieve the pain or how to stop the clots needing to be 'pushed' out??
Many thanks xx

This happens to me, I’ve often woken up with so much pressure downstairs, gone to the loo, strained, and out pops a blood clot, sounds so rank but happens to me too, you aren’t alone! X
It’s so grim! Never been brave enough to post about it here, nice to know it’s not just me though, I’vegot the pressure feeling now cos I’m on right now, dreading another clot! 😩 x
Yeah it's always good to know others feel the same! I'm not supposed to be on but I'm having bleeding every other day with these annoying clots and it's just gross x
Whoever said being a woman is glamorous needs to spend a day in our shoes!! 😂 x
I’ve had a similar pain before, which has eased when I’ve passed a clot of blood, it’s like it’s a relief/eases the pain. But I’ve not had the sensation of pushing really I don’t think, it’s just usually if I go to sit on the loo when my bleeding is heavy they come out xxx
I suffer with clots too. I really get grossed out, it feels alien to be passing them and they cause me a lot of pain beforehand but they make the pain go away once out. I tried a Squatty Potty (it’s a toilet step!) that really helps for constipation and also because you’re in the slightly curled up position can ease the passing of clots.
PS I didn’t buy a squatty potty, but instead a basket in my bathroom which is about the right height to help.
Ha ha! Yes, the Basket Club, that’s us! It’s quite a revolutionary idea. All those awkward toilet holes I experienced whilst travelling in SE Asia in my 30s now make total sense!!
Just seen this funny ad on Squatty Potty... worth a watch as it’s kind of weird... (but the product, or similar devices, really works). m.youtube.com/watch?v=YbYWh...
I don’t know if it’s normal but it’s happened to me quite a few times where have terrible pain and a sudden urge to push! With on and off bleeding I went back to my doctor and she examined my cervix entrance. Sometimes the contraceptive pill can irritate it, causing spotting to happen so my pill has been changed. Not saying this is the case with you but If you have unexplained on off bleeding you should be examined. Hope that helps abit. Take care.
Pretty normal for most suffering! Painful huge clots. Yes I had 20years like that. 19 day periods. Using a tampon and nite towel together, changing them every 1he. At the time I would have a few pairs of knocked in my office draw and a couple of trousers. Usually the 2nd to 5th day were worse. Doctors were hopeless and didn't believe the volume I was passing. Some nites I would wake up after flooding covered in blood. Sorry you are suffering. For a few mths I took the pill continuely to stop periods but my body didn't like the pill. Sex during my period when the flooding was happening did start to help settle the flooding and clots.
I'm taking the pill back to back as advised by my gyno to try and stop the periods until after my surgery but it hasn't worked and I'm on my 15th day of bleeding :/ Mine is not flooding, just very thick with clots that are painful to pass.
Sex is too painful for me now (it used to be my cure for clotting and cramps but now I have such a low sex drive and its so painful to even attempt foreplay that it went out the window).
Think we're all just in the same boat and gotta push through I guess...
