I had a coil inserted during my laparoscopy two weeks ago. I am wondering if my period will change now, as I am due on in a few days?? Not sure if I should expect it or not? Thank you xx

Hey! I had a coil put in during my first lap too. Is it the marina coil you have? I was 25 when I first had mine put in. they said because I was still young it might not stop my period completely and It didn’t. I still had bleeding, but the longer I had it in the bleeding got lighter. After about 6 months it was super lite to the point I just needed very light pants liners. I’m now 33 and For the last two years or so I haven’t really gotten periods any more, just light spotting and sometimes nothing. I think it will very between person to person and your age, but the longer you have it the lighter your periods will get.
I found mine really helped slow the progression of my symptoms and I didn’t have any side effects so it worked really well for me and I still have it.
I hope yours helps
Xxx

So if I am due on in a few days I’ll still be coming on then? I just didn’t know if insertion will change my cycle at all? X
