Weight Loss for Hysterectomy

Hi,

Long story short, have been suffering with endo for 14 years.

Most recently I’ve bled non stop for 6 weeks despite medications.

Scan showed multiple cysts with cysts inside.

Gyne has today started zoladex to turn ovaries off. I need to continue this for 3 months before seeing him again to arrange hysterectomy date.

Main concerns - I had back surgery last year and gained 4 stone - current BMI 38!!! Mortified! I need to get to at least 31 before gyne will touch me.

Anyone managed to lose weight whilst on medicated menopause? I’m very tempted to liquid diet and cardio to crash!

Thanks xx

It may be that a good portion of the "fat" isn't fat at all and is swelling due to the endo, (not just the growths themselves which are actually quite small but the fluid your body generates with any inflammation). So you may find the Zoladex reduces the endo and the swelling.

DO NOT CRASH DIET, or do rigorous exercise, your endo has all sort of nasty affects on your body and you could make yourself really ill.

However, it is likely that you have an overgrowth of Candida Albicans (the same stuff that causes thrush) in your gut. Candida is triggered by oestrogen to grow and feeds on carbs. Endo generates its own form of oestrogen so helps candida grow, but candida also generates a form of oestrogen and helps the endo grow.

So you need to go on an ultra low carb diet. If this makes you feel like you have flu and a hangover combined on the first day, then you have candida. The ill feelings are the candida sending out chemical signals to your body to feed it. Keep off the carbs and you'll get gradually better over the period of a week, then you should be able to function roughly normally but it'll take another few weeks to totally get rid of the candida. There's a tea called Pau D'arco / Lapacho that helps kill it, also coconut oil attacks it (so if you need an energy snack go for creamed coconut). Oregano is another thing that combats Candida.

As for exercise (don't bother until your body has adjusted to the diet) but then keep it gradual. Jogging, not running and build it up a little more each time. Walking then jogging then walking with short stretches of each is a good way to build up. Just increase the length of jogging each time. Note that vigorous exercise can cause cysts to burst and that is extremely painful.
