Sorry for complaining so much but I’m struggling

Sorry for all the rants but I really need one right now. I have no one in my life to turn to about all of this as my parents don’t believe me, my best friend thinks I make it up and my boyfriend doesn’t understand much anyways.

Past couple of months the pain has been constantly there all month and not only when it’s my period. It’s like an ache in my hips, back and lower stomach. With the occassional sharp ovary pain and sharp rectal pain (does anyone else get this). The tiredness is ridiculous and people just think I’m being lazy for wanting to sleep so early at night etc. I’ve started getting bad acne around my chin and I’ve never had this before so I feel shit. I eat healthy too.

The fact I’m 18 and can’t go out and drink etc really gets to me as my best friend tries to argue with me when I don’t want to go out due to the pain and fatigue. Plus alcohol gives me extreme heartburn which is unpleasant. I want to be a normal teenager 😩

I have to wait for a 4th opinion before my lap as my doctor is going against the endo specialists report and the GP doesn’t think I need a lap or have endo. This is really frustrating as it’s like going round in circles.

I really don’t know what to do as I’m become distant to my boyfriend so I keep secrets about all of this from him especially the painful sex part in case he leaves and the cysts so he doesn’t worry

Hi hun.

Sending big hugs. It's horrid to think you don't have anyone that understands the pain your in. I do find this site wonderful.

I have my lap on the 8th of Feb. I'm not worried what they will find I'm more worried what they will NOT find.

Like you I have period pain everyday and it is really getting me down. I also have this horrid sharp pain that's goes up my ladies bits to my right overy. It's in the same place every time and boy it hurts. I also have bad skin atm and that can get me down.

As far as friends I have a few good friends that are really understanding when I say I can't go out because I'm not well. I'm almost 30 and my friends are in there late 30s so I think there more understanding.

I hope you get some answers to the pain your in. Don't give up fighting. You know your body better than any doctor does. If somthing does not feel right keep going till someone listens.

Xxx

Thank you, it’s like I get a dull ache before my period normally but now it’s everyday even though I’ve had one already. I have a sharp pain in both my ovaries at the same time sometimes.

I don’t want to complain all the time to my boyfriend etc so I just keep it to myself. Smile like everything’s okay when it’s not physically and emotionally. He does say “wish I could help” as it’s long distance but there’s not much that helps.

Hey. Are you on much pain Meds? I'm on a good few but they don't always help. I have been with my other half for 9 years. I have had 4 spinal surgerys and brain surgery so he is used to be not being well and I'm very lucky that he has stood by me. Have you told your gp that your feeling down . I did have some therapy so I could about the pain ect . Xx

Yeah I’m on codeine but that doesn’t help. I’ve tried mefenamic acid and tranexamic acid. My bf would probably stick by me as he’s said in the past but my brain just overthinks haha and prepares for the worse most of the time xx

I would go back to the doctor the least they can do is give you more pain Meds. There is a lot stronger stuff than codeine for the times where it is really bad. I would also tell them how down all this is making you hun. May help them hurry things up a bit.xx

I know it’s not good being on tablets but you should try buscopan, and nexium control (both of these things should solve your pain and heartburn) x

The specialist suspects pelvic endometriosis and tenderness in my ovary area. My GP doesn’t think I have endo despite the signs and how it affects my quality of life. So the GP doesn’t want me to have a lap and it’s all apparently normal pain

Thank you, I have the symptoms you have described apart from infertility as I don’t know if I have that yet. I’ve seen 3 GPs in the same place and all dismiss the specialist opinion xx

Do what lindle said and complain they'll get there acts together then gps don't know anything about endo and act like they know it all. After 16 years ITOLD THEM IV GOT ENDO they had to refer me and get it confirmed you need to be assertive once you've complained see how much your taken seriously then you've got to play them at their own game sometimes. 💗🤗😘

Hey sorry to hear about your pain. I'm 19 and since May last year I been having leg,hip and back pain mostly on the right hand side. I use tiger balm religiously for my hip pain especially. It took me 4 tears just to get referred to a gyne. Be as pushy as you can you know your own body. I got a lap in march my first one so seeing if i got endo. Wheb it comes to people being unsupportive if you feel rewlly down you can call the endometriosis helpline i beleive all the women on there have endo and seem very friendly.

I've lost friends over not going out but i know for a fact if they had the pain that we all get they won't be able to either. To make myself better when i have bad pain i put face and hair masks on to try and relieve stress because it doesn't help the pain. Believe I got ovary tenderness too but unsure atm. I wish you good luck and you can always talk to the nice people on this site or the helplines. Good luck and i hope your day is pain free x

Thank you so much, how long was you waiting for a lap?

I definitely try and have like nights where I just put a face mask on and relax with music on but then the pain sort of comes back anyways, I just have a softer face haha xx

No problem and I went to a gyne last year but this specific one was like a robot she kept giving me strange looks. Later found she been unkind to a friend of mine. That was March last year she wanted me to try coil I refused. In summer my pain became more chronic pain outside of periods ect. So i pledded to my gp I said it was affecting my mental health I felt down everyday and always in bed. I got an appointment withing 3 weeks. Saw a lovely gyne i got emotional talking to her haha! Then I got my pre lap on 10th of January and my lap is 9th of March I got another pre op the week before.

It has been affecting me mentally for ages and when I told my gp she finally took me seriously! So if it is affecting yours which i think it could well be then dont be afraid to mention it to your gp if pains make you down. And go for it you deserve a pamper xx

Yeah, I think it all builds up until I have a breakdown as I have no one to talk to about it all. My mum thinks I’m lying and my best friend doesn’t believe me. The boyfriend tries to understand bless him but I don’t want to make him feel uncomfortable talking about ovaries and periods a lot haha.

My GP wants me to have a 4th opinion haha as he doesn’t believe the endo specialist 🤦‍♀️ xx

Yes I can see why you feel the way you do its normal if it feels like no one is listening you just want to get a fog horn and scream into it. My boyfriend is like yours tries to understand and he does well we have been together for awhile so not much filter when it comes to periods and all. I just keep thanking him to let him know i appreiate him trying his best and it means a lot. Could you see another gp? Also where do you get ovary pain sounds stupid but i find it hard to detect where the ovaries are but i am getting pain where i think they might be but not sure xx

Stay tough, it’s hard I know especially when the doctor doesn’t believe u - I had that too and I didn’t know endo existed till the lap. Stick to your guns, if you feel that bad and are on meds then something’s wrong isn’t it, you shouldn’t feel this way xx
