Symptoms improved after laparoscopy? If so, how long did it take?

Hi, I'd like to know what people's experiences are in terms of if surgical treatment for endo made a difference to their symptoms and how long it took for you to notice a difference?

I am 8 days post-lap - it was my first one and diagnostic but they did find endo in two different places which the surgeon burnt away. Also one of my ovaries had adhered to my pelvic sidewall so it was unstuck basically (I assume cut away?). I've heard cutting away is better for treating endo but I'm hoping it won't make too much difference as apparently it was superficial and not deep-tissue.

I've heard stories of people waking up after surgery and instantly feeling better which has worried me slightly as currently my endo symptoms don't seem to have improved at all. For example I was at least hoping it would reduce or stop pain I get going to the toilet especially as they did remove endo from a ligament associated with making it painful to go - but it hasn't helped!

Maybe it's just far too early to tell - any experiences please share xx

To be honest after my first excision surgery I felt like crap for a while. However, my first period pains after were significantly improved (it was about 3-4 weeks after surgery.) It took a while for everything to calm down. You have to remember you had a lot done inside! It takes everyone different lengths of time to feel better. Just do your best to take it easy and be gentle with yourself.

Our bodies cant differentiate between endo pain and where the endo has been removed pain - so this makes it feel like the endo hasn't gone. Your body needs time to heal, and it will - rest up and be patient :)
