Hi everyone, I am a 59 year old and Just wanted to share my experience with you, in case someone else having similar problems. I have had had terrible thigh pain for over 12months, with difficulty walking, sleeping and energy in general. Started having problems seeing, no pain, just no gush. Also tended to have a wee then sit and wait for next load as felt constantly that I had not finished.
Doctor arranged for emergency catheterisation at home to see how much urine was not being released. Nothing came out at all! I then went a few days later for ultrasound, and discovered I had a double fluid filled cyst 12cm and 10 cm joined together.
Long story short, they felt that it wasn’t sinister as no blood supply found, so went in for laparoscopic removal.
It turns out I had severe adhesions that had to be cut to get anywhere near the cyst which prolonged the operation by an hour. They then deflated fluid cysts and found that my only ovary left after total hysterectomy 8 years ago was 3 times the size it should be, and behind that a 6cm solid cyst which was the feeder to the fluid cysts. This all was pulled out of my right side incision by right hip. The good news was that the solid cyst was benign, so all out with nothing left I hope !! I have been off work for 4weeks prior to op and 5 weeks after, but still do not feel ready to go back to my job as a teacher assistant in a primary school. I am going back to doctor on Monday to see if I can have more time off work. I feel this is rather a long time, but cannot walk for a long time or stand, even sitting in a hard chair is difficult. So for anyone else with similar problem, don’t feel that there is a set time to return to work. Everyone is different
