Hi, I have had ovarian cysts and endometriomas removed in the past and most recently removed 8 months ago which was also when my mirena coil was fitted. I have been experiencing ovarian pain again but just had extremely painful stabbing pains. I was wondering what peoples experiences were if their cysts had burst.
Thanks

Sorry to hear you are in pain. I find Buscopan helps with the cramps and stabbing pains. Even though you have had the endometriosis removed it's probably either flared up in the same areas or in other areas which are difficult. Your ovaries produce hormones such as oestrogen which feeds the endometrosis. If the stabbing pains are going up your back passage and deep inside it's exactly what I had. The endometriosis could quite possibly be in the area known as the Pouch of Douglas which is between your uterus and bowel... hence the pain. I'm having a full hysterectomy in June as I've been suffering with this awful chronic disease for 22 yrs. In the meantime I've been give an injection every four weeks. It shuts gown your ovaries and stops providing oestrogen to feed the endometriosis... eventually the endometriosis starves & dies off. The injection is called Prostap and I also take a tablet called Tibolone to stop the effects of early menopause because the injections put your body in an induced menopause state. Check this out with your doctor and all the best. Take care from Marie x
Hi Marie these injection do shut down ovaries but if you have severe endo it produces its own oestrogen so it is self sustaining and does not die off I'm afraid.
Hi Jean, you are right because I'm still suffering with pain but no where as bad as before. I've also got a mirena coil fitted to also ease the symptoms of the dreaded endometriosis.
I can experience stabbing pain and could be then a possibility that a cyst burst. It is a very uncomfortable pain and painful. Last time i had this something felt twisted and then i bled too during the day
(not much, but i knew it was connected)
It is sometimes hard to describe properly what you feel.
Are the stabbing pains constant or come and go? What else do you experience?
