HELP!! Blood in Stool

Hey everyone. So I’m currently on my period - day 2! In excruciating pain, haven’t passed out so far which is good for me! But all other symptoms are persistent.

I’m just wondering for those who have had diagnosis and treatments - I have a LOT of blood in my stool. I’m sorry for the graphic details but when I wipe all I see is blood.. in the toilet bowl there’s blood eeeeverywhere. I seem to be slightly constipated and struggle to go to the toilet unless I’m on my period - almost like the blood loosens it.

I’m wondering if anyone else experienced this and what the outcome was? I have a laparoscopy upcoming (next year in January they’ve told me), and they’re thinking it’s either on or in my bowel, has anyone had this and if you have what happened and what was the outcome??

Hope everyone has had a lovely day,

Lots of love xx

Sorry to hear about you being in pain :( sending hugs.

Regarding blood in stool. Could the blood from wiping just be period blood getting mixed up when wiping? I get blood in bowel movements before, during and after periods. I know with constipation when you're sitting on the loo and you force to have a poop a lot of blood will come out from the front end as you are pushing. Also is it fresh pink blood or old dark blood?

Thank you so much ❤️

No it’s definitely not from my period blood. It’s a mix of both - red when I wipe, but actually IN the stool is a deep colour. To be honest it’s not like I’m super desperate to go and I’m forcing it out, my gp told me to just try being patient with it and not to force it or I’ll cause more damage. So I know it’s not because of that either

I had my bowel shaved in 2008ish due to bowel bleeds which stopped after the surgery but they came back so now I have a colonoscopy end of this month to see if endo penetrated the bowel this time. You show the signs I had/ still have.

Oh gosh, you’ve really been through it. I hate to self diagnose but I just sort of know I’m going to have it in my bowel. I just hope they see it in the first place and don’t mess me around. So in this colonoscopy are they just looking to see if it’s there and then decide what to do? Or will they remove it if they find it?

Looking to see if it's there among checking if I have any form of IBD due to other bowel issues I've had for years. I don't know what will happen if endo has gone through the bowel wall. I'll let you when I had it if you want.

Don't panic! Blood can be there for a number of reasons. The main issue is the colour. Is it bright red, black, pink etc etc? Are you having any other symptoms in yourself? Anything new? If you are really worried, ring your GP tomorrow and you can get a little sample pot and they can send it off.

One of the places where I had endo was in the bowel and I bled all the time on my peroid. For me personally it made me anaemic so I made sure I kept up my iron levels up etc

It’s bright red on the tissue and in the bowl, but inside the stool it’s a deeper colour.

I’ve talked it through with my gp and gynae but they just said it’s to do with my endo!

What happened with yours? Did they have to do bowel surgery??

Yep I’m definitely anaemic and get regular blood tests to keep up with it

I take spatone for the anaemia because its a natural form of iron and it doesn't make you constipated!
