Big day tomorrow

Hi everyone

I finally bit the bullet and I have my first lap tomorrow to confirm if I endo or not. I’m nervous but will be glad to get it over and done with as this has been hanging over my head for nearly a year as I have cancelled my last one. Is there any advice anyone can give me in terms of recovery etc. Xx

Morning I had mine a few months ago. Just take it easy regarding ie housework as i didn't and i ripped my belly button stitch. I was really nervous but i shouldn't of been. it was just awkward getting out of bed and chairs but no real sore pain compared to endometriosis . good luck

Good luck for today Lou887 hope all goes well. I'm currently waiting for my date of surgery to conform and nervous like you. X

Hi ya, it’s very daunting when your waiting as you have no idea what to expect but once you know the outcome of the lap it does feel like a huge weight is lifted off your shoulders. Ask for lots of pain meds’ as it will help. Good luck tho, let me know when you have a date x

Hi Lou887,

Just wanted to ask how your feeling/doing after op? I've got my date through it's the 20th of this month. Was it as bad as I think it's going to be? X

Hi Hardyn28

I’m doing ok, I feel a bit stiff and tired but I think that is normal. It’s not as bad as you think it will be, don’t get me wrong I am a total wimp and the worst patient ever but it’s uncomfortable and painful for the first couple of days but just keep yourself dosed up and drink plenty of fluids as that helps an awful lot. It also depends on where they go in, I have 3 cuts one in my belly button and one on either side of my belly button. My friends have had it done and there other cuts are on their knicker line so I think that plays a factor in things as well. I would say just take it slowly you will be sore for a couple of days but it does get easier I promise. Is it your first lap? X

Thank you for replying. It's good to hear your recovering well. Yes this is my 1st.ive never had an operation before and already having restless nights over it so roll on the 20th. Fingers crossed it's straight forward and they actually find something. X

I was exactly the same Hun, I’m not good with hospitals at all and was my first operation. Just make sure when you come round you get pain relief if you need it as it does help. When your home recovering just keep motivated and move about otherwise you will go stuff. Let me know how you get on and if you need anything or need a chat let me know and I will help where I can x
