Hello

I was disgnosed last year with 'mild' endometriosis and have since been and tried every hormone possible including and currently on my second round of prostap injections but have continued to bleed and if not worse then ever before. I am now bleeding one week then off one week then starting again. I have seen the best consultant and he told me that he actually can't stop the bleeding after giving me every treatment.

I have tried to live with this and continue life as normal but i cant. Its actually getting to me now and causing so much upset and sadness. I have 2 kids already but doctors dont really want to do a full hysterectomy as i am only 24 years old. I try to continue with work as much as i can. I work full time and suffering every few weeks i having a serious affect in work too.

Can anyone offer me any advice or help? I am waiting for the injections to leave my system so the consultant can check my natural hormone level but i really cant see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Thanks

Lauren

Hi there

Have you ever had surgery to rid the endo? Unfortunately, this is the only real way to treat the pain & even then it can come back.

Hysterectomy will not help the endo. When you say you saw the best consultant, was he bsge registered?

Hi I'm sorry to hear you are having such a rough time. I have severe endometriosis so I know how your feeling when you say you feel upset and sad and worried about work. My current treatment plan isn't helping me of tricycling the pill so I've been referred by my gp to see a bsge consultant in london, I haven't had the prostap injections but if they weren't working for me I would stop them. Is your consultant bsge registered? My current gynae consultant is lovely but not expert enough to deal with the severity of my endometriosis, I wish I hadn't left it so long to ask to see a bsge specialist. Make sure you are seeing the right professionals to help you. After my first lap when I was diagnosed I was put on 6 months injections of gnrh analogues which stopped my periods for 13months was such a relief and my periods were less painful when they returned, this treatment is supposed to stop the ovaries from working and shrink the endometriosis. I hope you find a solution to this problem. As hard as it is try to stay positive. Best wishes.
