Can anyone on here tell me if the decapeptyl injections stop the mirena coil working.... I stupidly went to the chemist for the morning after pill and they said it shouldn't make a difference and the coil should still work so refused to give it to me but I am in such a bad state I wondered if anyone on here could help... X

Had the mirena fitted because of endometriosis and it didn't help so they started me on a course of decapeptyl as well.. I am really concerned so was wondering if anyone could help. Thank you

Having a Mirena fitted suppresses your ovaries so no periods no pain or that's how it supposed to work! I,m not sure what the injection will do if you still have the Mirena in. if your ovaries are "asleep" as they should be with a Mirena then your pain must be something else. What are you experiencing hun? explain your pain and where it is..

Rhe mirena hasn't suppressed the effects of my endometriosis. I was still have irregular bleeding and pain. The mirena coil worked for a bit but didn't last. They decapeptyl has been given to me to help with the symptoms as I can't have another operation as its not been enough time since my last one.

I live in Greater Manchester and so worked at a large hospital in the Womens Unit, there are some top class gynae and uro -gyna surgeons there with numerous out patient clinics covering everything from early preganancy to post menopause. Have you had the positioning of the Mirena checked? Why is it oyu feel you need more surgery hun??

As the endemetriosis has grown back I think she said stage 2-3. Had it burnt away last year but it's back. Had an MRI scan and it was apparent in this. X

I have a mirena coil and I have endometriosis. The coil has helped with the bleeding but has done nothing at all for the pain. I've had it fitted 8 years xx

FWIW I was started on decapeptyl shortly after having a mirena fitted early this year because the mirena wasn't working quickly enough to stop my periods and give me pain relief. It's not unheard of.

I live in Essex near Colchester. They weren't specific in where it was found just said it was all over.
