I've got coeliac and my consultant said there is evidence to suggest there is a link. Speak to your doctor and try cutting it out and see how you go. It's in loads of stuff so be sure to check ingredients! Xx

I have seen SO many posts about Endo diet tips and every last one mentions gluten like it is proven to be some sort of food devil.

It isn't. Science does not support this.

This is common misinformation based on trending fad diets meant to get your money. Unless you actually have Celiacs Disease (1% of the population) or a more mild gluten intolerance (6%), then gluten will not negatively affect you. Humans have been eating gluten for ten thousand years. Wheat has helped us grow and helped to allow us to develop human civilisation. It really isn't bad. It's a basic protein found in many grains.

There is danger to cutting gluten from your diet without proper medical or nutritionalist advice too. In order to replace gluten, gluten free products are often loaded with fat and sugar to get a similar end result, not to mention the fact that products that naturally have gluten also have a host of other natural vitamins and minerals you'll be depriving yourself of.

Now, as for bloating, I just find that about everything I eat causes massive bloating, whether it's toast or fresh salad. Bloating is just a way of Endo life.

Below are three articles from reputable sources that all discuss this pop culture fad that is based on very little sound scientific or medical advice. When you google gluten, it is easy to find dozens of sites that tell you it's the devil, but look at the urls - they aren't reputable source. Anyone can say anything online. Be careful about where you're getting your information from. Changes in our diets shouldn't be taken lightly and should always be made with sound medical advice, not the word of a celebrity pushing their newest book or self help DVD.

Sorry if previous commenter misunderstood, wasn't pushing gluten as the devil I know most people are fine with, just saying I have coeliac and endo and several scientific studies have suggested a link as they're both autoimmune conditions :)

I think there is...

I ended up in a&e with severe pelvic pains 5 months ago.

I had always had bad periods and pain and they thought endo.

Had lap and it was endo but it was not severe at all really quite minor amount but since the attack of pain i have become intolerant to gluten and milk?

I just cannot eat it, it makes me really ill, bloating , pain, indigestion. So ive totally given it up and been fine ever since? Even my periods have got easier?

So i do think they are related somehow i dont know how but somehow

I believe there's a link. It's hard to cut it out completely all of the time but I avoid dairy, gluten, soya, red meat and trans fats (anything with excess estrogen). Since I've stopped I feel a lot better! Also a lot of meat is injected with hormones so I try to stick to organic. It's not easy I must admit and I can't always stick to it but any change is better than no change. I'm doing it for me and my body.
