Was it done by a BSGE endo centre? General gynaes have been known to miss Endo as its looks can be very variable.
I would ask if the pouch of Douglas and utero sacral ligaments where checked and if any adhesions were found
If it's not Endo could it be Adenomyosis? Did you have a biopsy taken? Adeno is in the muscle layer of uterus so often can't be seen by eye, or even scans.
Not sure what type of sergeon he was and I'm annoyed I didn't get this message early enough to ask those questions
but
they have found no endometriosis but he is not ruling it out so he has put me on these pills for 9weeks and I have a break for a week were he will log to see if I have any pain
hormonal/overie/bowel related as he wants to get to the bottom of my symptoms
Even though there is still no answer the reassurance that the surgeon is on it helps
I'm in exactly the same position as you. However i don't have a follow up with the consultant so I need to start all over again with the GP who thinks I 'should just deal with the pain'. It's so frustrating & you feel like no one believes you but finding this website makes us feel we are not alone. Good luck with your appointment & keep in touch . Xxx
I had my follow up appointment yesterday after my lap on sat and they have found no endometriosis but he is not ruling it out so he has put me on these pills for 9weeks and I have a break for a week were he will log to see if I have any pain
hormonal/overie/bowel related as he wants to get to the bottom of my symptoms
I have pushed and pushed and finally I'm getting there
Even though there is still no answer the reassurance that the surgeon is on it helps
Hope this helps because it's not all in your head you just need to get the right person to deal with it keep fighting!!!
Thank you, I'm glad your surgeon is being pro-active. I'm going to try & get an appointment with a different GP next week & start the process again. Good luck
I don't have much advice other than to keep pushing and don't let them ignore your pain. Sounds like you have a good consultant though so hopefully that should help
I'm in a similar situation. Was told I don't have endo after years of telling me that's what they were convinced I had, but there was a lot of scar tissue and adhesions. I didn't get a follow up appointment so I'm back at my GP trying to get another referral.
I've heard that it's possible for them to miss endo sometimes and that not all surgeons check everywhere (I think pouch of Douglas is often missed during laps) so don't rule it out yet.
