Hello everyone, my name is Nicole and I have severe endo. I’m going to need surgery for a hysterectomy and also work to my bowel. Has anyone had this and what can I expect. I am rather nervous xx

Would like to say hello to you all 💛
It’s totally understandable to be nervous 😔. I haven’t had the same but just wanted to wish you well. Hopefully when you come out the other side of it all your symptoms will be improved and it will be worth it in the long term. Good luck xx
Hi Nicole. I had a total hysterectomy seven months ago. You do experience post operative pain obviously that dad does subside. Do you need to take it easy and you practically nothing for several weeks so you can make a full recovery and not tear any stitches or anything internally. I know it's a big operation but it's very straightforward and I'm sure that once its done you will be feeling so much better as I have done. One important thing is to make sure that you strengthen your core muscles before and after the op as this will help a lot. Good Luck and try not to worry 😊
I too have severe endo and waiting for a hysterectomy to treat this and my adenomyosis. I am also extremely nervous about the op. I have had recurrent endo cysts on both ovaries and have had to make the decision about whether to keep one ovary as advised by my consultant to help my bone health but I know I would need another op if I keep one, so I am going to request to have both ovaries removed. I am following your post to see what others have experienced. Hope it all works out for youx
I’m here if you need to chat anytime. I had my left ovary removed in 2013 and was hoping to try to have a family too but I have had to get my head around it. I too have chocolate cysts and fibroids and maybe we can support one another. I’m very lucky to have such a very caring family who will all be there for me too and it’s nice to see who else has had this diagnosis to have op or who has had it and what to expect although everyone heals differently. 💛
Thanks Nicole, I will keep in touch and let you know how I get on. I haven't been able to have children due to my endo and adeno. I looked into adopting but decided not to do this in the end. I have come to terms with this (I am 43 years old and was diagnosed 12 years ago with endo). My family are very supportive and caring too which is great. Hope you don't mind me asking, are you having the other ovary removed? If so, will you be having hrt after your op? x
