My incision in my belly button is bleeding, it looks healed but is seeping blood.

The stitch is still in as they're dissolvable but haven't gone yet.

What do I do?

I would see a nurse ASAP- I was told that go to the nurse if I had any worries over the wound. It definitely needs looking at. xoxo

Do you think it's worth calling NHS24? I mean it's not a lot of blood but definitely bleeding and quite painful! Xxx

I would- they will advise what to do. If it's painful should seek medical advice xoxo

Hm. That's not great. If it gets worse please don't leave it. Can you ring Dr in the morning to get it checked? No hot water bottles on operation site was all I got told. (Plus back to work in two days - yeah right!). Big, gentle hugs. Xx

Not sure if this is any use to you, but I had the same problem with my belly button (all other incision marks were fine) and went to my GP who prescribed me a topical antibiotic steroid cream to help remove the stitches that hadn't dissolved, prevent/treat any possible infection and stop the bleeding. It worked a treat and I was fine within a couple of days.

Might be worth mentioning it to your GP if you see them. I had seen a nurse who wasn't sure what to do, so she called in my GP who by chance also has Endo and had similar issues after her lap so she knew that this cream would work.

Hope this might help. M x

I've had the same issue. Doc said it was cause ur belly button goes in and with the stitches the old skin can't flake off as easily. My stitches took about 20 days to dissolve from tummy area. But another week from belly button ones.

Hope it all heals soon.

Okay thankyou!! I really can't be bothered tracking to the nurse, it looks healthy and it's not a lot of bleeding so I'll just keep an eye! Xx
