Spotting while having the coil

I've had my coil in for around 9 months now, the first few months I had an on going period for over 5 weeks. I went to my jp (who isn't always so helpful) gave me ibuprofen for the pain, thankfully it stopped but I'd just been to the toilet and noticed as I wiped I had deep red bloody on the tissue. I'm hoping it's nothing serious again but how lono does spotting usually last??

I no longer get a period with my coil, but do get occasional spotting. The other day I had some rectal bleeding (sorry tmi), which I used to get before the coil and is a symptom of my endometriosis. All just normal. Would only be worried if you had very heavy bleeding. Xxx

I had bleeding and spotting for 8 months with my Mirena and had to have it removed xxx

Hi, I've had coil for 2 years and kept having spotting and a bleed now and again. I was put on pill to take continuous on top earlier this year to try stop bleeds/spotting and pain. Although it stopped the bleeding it isn't stopping pain and other symptoms.

Everyone has different experience with coil so just know your body and what feels right/comfortable for you.

Like others have said if it's a very heavy bleed or not normal for you, go get checked out maybe by a different GP? Xx
