I have just had coil fitted last week and had a painful period and pain from it being fitted (I haven't had children so don't know if this contributes to this). I have been told to take my pill alongside the coil to give it time to settle, this is my first coil though so different to your experience xx

Hi I had issues with my 3rd coil. If you look on my past posts think it was titled Why am I having issues with my 3rd coil.

My periods never stopped on mirena although they were much lighter and shorter. They never helped with pain.

Did the first 2 stop your periods?

First coil I only had spotting, next coil very light, with mild pain. Then normal flow stopping and starting for two weeks at a time and painful.
