Wait for GYN appointment

My gp says I have to bleed for six months to get a GYN referral

I can't stand it anymore. It has been three months and I feel so tired and worn out and sometimes I am in a lot of pain sometimes.

I think you need to find a different GP one that will listen. If that is non stop then it is definitely not normal. You could also look to do a first consult privately.

In the meantime look into iron supplements to help fatigue floradix is meant to be absorbable and easier on the tummy. Also add a squeeze of fresh lemon to dark greens, broccoli etc which aids absorption of iron according to my GP.

I agree with the comments. I went back and forth to the GP with my constant bleeding. I'm now left with severe Endometriosis and unable to have children naturally. Get yourself a private referral, the NHS process is going to continue to drain you mentally and physically...

Your GP is talking rubbish. Please go back and ask to see a different one. This sort of bleeding is NOT normal and you should not have to put up with it for 6 months before you can get help, that's ridiculous.

You need to find a new gp now - I bled for 2 weeks and was referred for scans.

It is unacceptable that any woman should be left to bleed for three months - there's chances you could be anaemic by now so you'll also need a blood test for that.

Best of luck - Cath x

I did go for scans and had repeat blood work done and I am anemic and feel rotten I asked to be referred now but gp said I have to wait three more months of bleeding

Please call them again, tell them how unwell you are and insist that they give you an emergency appointment or at least a phone call from a GP. They should be able to offer you that at least. Are they treating the anaemia?

If they won't give you an earlier appointment, tell them you want to make a formal complaint. I know this is difficult, especially when you feel awful, but you're not getting the treatment you need. x.
