Hi just wondering if anyone else with endo gets palpitations just before your periods? It's not pain related, had numerous tests like ECG and all come back okay, I know it's hormone related, anyone else suffered this 😩 Endo ten years, 5 miscarriages, awaiting another lap! Ps I'm 28, healthy weight non smoker xxx

Yes!! Only been suffering the last year or so. Had a 24 hour monitor and showed abnormalities but nothing to concern the doc apparently. They are getting worse but as soon as period arrives they go.

Hi there. I got this but I'm not sure its related to endo. It s more I think to do with the changes or drop in hormones as you get near your period kind of a mini menopause state in a way. The hormones must drop in order to bring on a period although I think its only the drop in progesterone that actually initiates the womb lining shedding ( period ). Although they both generally peak around ovulation and then both drop in level and you have a period plus palpitations sometimes. It can also occur if hormone levels at are low as well but a change in levels also can cause it. Sometimes women with endo may have very high levels of hormnes to start with ( hence the endo ) so maybe we feel the drops in level more acutely.

I've been suffering with terrible palpitations this year and initially the doctors seemed to think it might have been happening as I was anaemic. I've been on iron tablets since April to resolve this. However I have noticed that my palps seem to be in a pattern- either I get them mid cycle, or like last week, the run up to my period.

So I had them badly Mon- Fri last week and then I came on my period yesterday. They then stop. I too have had an ECG and a 24 monitor and the consultants said apart from a few periods of bradycardia that there were no other 'significant episodes'. I'm going back to the doctors on Friday as the palps are so much worse when I exert myself and I want reassurance that I can do exercise without dropping dead 😐

Nice to know other people have the same before their periods, even if it feels horrible for all of us.

My daughter is 15 and hasn't been diagnosed formally as yet but has all the clinical signs of endo. She said that she had a flushed feeling the other day, coupled with a funny feeling in her chest and then felt dizzy and sick. I know there are viruses going around, but this was one episode and she felt it was likely to be hormones too. I certainly used to get horrible hot flushes with palps. (I had endo). I'm a cardiac nurse and can tell you that most palps are benign and nothing to worry about. However if they continue for several hours, and are associated with feeling sick dizzy lightheaded sweaty and any chest pain, they should be treated as an emergency. hope that helps.

I would get palpitations before too when you have your period your hormones drop and us ladies with endo have more estrogen then progesterone in most cases so it's going to cause all kinds of crazy. I thought I was having panic attacks before my period but all that happened was palpitations, flushing and then I'd have to sit down or I'd get close to fainting.
