Hi. I have recently been diagnosed with endometriosis and have been receiving prostap injections. I have also had hpv virus detected on my smear present with CIN 1.
After several attempts at trying to get information/reaccurance from my go has left me in a state of panic mentally/emotionally.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated

try not to panic. i too am taking prostap with hrt and recently had a smear. the nurse warned me that this medication can affect the result of a smear test. can u make an appointment with your gp or nurse to discuss again.
I have tried to speak to my gp. He sent me to my consultant. My consultant told me i shouldn't have the appointment and to come back in 3 months to discuss things. I have had electro treatment on the cin 1 and hpv.
My gp is extremely rude and does not follow his duty of care. A formal complaint has been raised
not the response u needed. its so frustrating at a time when u just need reassurance or support and its not there. could u speak to your nurse about things?
I have been on prostap for 2 months, and also, like you, was informed I was HPV positive (42 & 53), and had CIN 2 - had LLETZ beginning of October and still not fully recovered! It's a horrible procedure isn't it... Usually after LLETZ most ladies find things return to normal at their follow up smear, and seeing as you have CIN 1, you should be okay, I'm sure.
What got me through it all was the fact that they found the CIN 2 and removed it before it could've turned into something more sinister. The Prostap injection is lousy, and I am determined to finish the treatment to ensure that my consultant can't say that I didn't try it, in the event that I don't get pregnant.
If you find Prostap is too much for you, your consultant can increase the HRT dosage. I'm not taking HRT because my hormones have been messed with for the last decade with the pill, mini pill, implant etc. and none of them suited me, so I'm confident more synthetic hormones won't do me any justice, but HRT works wonders for many that are or have been on prostap.
If you are struggling with things (I still do!), go to a reputable consultant gynae and discuss your worries, I go to a private clinic but funded by NHS and my consultant is so good at putting my mind at ease. GP's are useless at times and don't have a great understanding of Endo, hence why ladies don't get diagnosed until years later. If possible, go to a friendlier GP, and demand a referral to a private clinic that accepts NHS patients. NHS e-referral choose and book system shows up private clinics that take on NHS funded patients too.
You're very welcome! If you ever need a chat or a rant and feel like you can't talk to anyone, just message me! It's a tough ordeal and sometimes letting off steam helps!
