Hi I have had my hysterectomy but it sames like i am more in pain now than I was before my op so when I get my six week cheek i think he be refuring me to special center xx
Pain is worse now than before : Hi I have... - Endometriosis UK
Pain is worse now than before
Good morning, Sounds very familiar to me. I had my hysterectomy October 2015 and now (August 2016) I am still 24 hours in constant pain. The MRI scan finally gave a clue: I have developed a scar endometriosis just below the umbilicus. They have left the ovary in to help me going through the menopause - which turns now out was not the right decision. The next step is using a nasal spray (Synarel) and see if this makes any difference.
Hopefully you will find something that works for you very soon.
Hi, I'm in a similar position to you, hysto leaving one ovary in Sept and pain worse than before, tho worst is immune system done in and worse fatigue. Intrigued why nasal spray recommended?
Hi, every time I had a hormone medication I had severe issues: Panic Attacks, loosing balance (falling without warning) etc. The nasal spray gives me more control of the dosis then the injection. The nasal spray is taken twice a day, while with the injection I get a month in one go. If things goes wrong I can stop the nasal spray and get the body back to 'normal' quicker.
Reading further comments down the line, I am really surprised why doctors are setting expectations to be back at work after 6 weeks! I had really issues at that time and many discussions with Occupational Health! Finally the doctor kept controlling the faced in to work, but after 6 month I needed to go back to full time as the company would have then cut my payments. Before the operation it was not explained clearly how long everything will take - only said I will be back to work after 6 weeks.
Also I am making very good use of my private health insurance - they don't pay medication (I pay for some of it in cash as everything available through NHS I'm allergic to) but I have faster access to a specialist.
Hi six weeks is still very early days. It can take anything up to a year to completely recover from a hysterectomy.
Very early days roscookie i.m afraid.it could take months.xx
Yes have to agree, I'm nearly a year post hysto and my symptons are still changing - bowel in particular takes time to settle. I think your Dr will say give it time but no harm pushing for specialist referral, especially as it like take months to come through
I too am still in pain after hyster and I had mine in Feb 2015. I did have ovaries removed but endo still growing.
I'd push for referral to BSGE clinic but it will probably need your GP to do that and it takes time.
I also agree with others that 6 weeks v early so need to wait at least 3 months to assess but no harm in asking for next referral. You could always cancel if you feel better by appointment time.
I'm also in more pain now than before my hysterectomy. I had my hysterectomy April this year - I am also bleeding like mini periods I'm feeling very confused xx
They did say to me that i could bleed up to 6 to 3 months anything after makes sure you tell them so they can check it out .#clairew23
Thank you I have an appt with my gp on Tues xxx
