Shooting pain getting worse..

Hi Ladies,

I posted not long ago saying I'm getting a shooting pain up my lady parts, this is getting worse I'm experiencing this daily.

I woke and this has started right away and it's getting more and more frequent.

I haven't got a follow up appointment with consultant until June, should I be worried?

Thank you

Jo xx

Hi,

Sorry to hear about your pains! I have these too during/around my periods. I do suffer from them sometimes but I usually find it's linked to the fact that I suffer from terrible constipation, and only then I realise I haven't been to the loo for several days. The constipation is from medication and painkillers, but I can not function with out them so it's a vicious circle really! Do you suffer from constipation at all?

Hope you feel better soon,

Xxx

Thanks for your reply. Yes i do suffer from constipation and I'm currently waiting for a colonoscopy to be done.

Though I keep being told that it's the endo causing these pain. I'm currently taking a high does of laxido daily and thay kind of gives me upset stomach so should be clearing it yet I still feel like I need to go. I think I have some kind of blockage or partial blockage but they keep telling me it's IBS which I don't think it. I guess we will see what they find this pain is getting unbearable xx

Oh that's good then! I had colonoscopy last year and they found piles. It's a very uncomfortable experience, so I wish you all the best with that. Yeah Endo pain can be quite unpredictable because everyone is so different, and their symptoms are too. It could well be endo pain, but I am no doctor lol!

You could try some natural remedies such as the good old water bottle, or have u heard of a tens machine? I boight one a few weeks back and im recommending it to everyone lol! Look it up on the Internet, it works well for me but as I said everyone is different. Wish you all the luck & sending you hugs. Xxx

Thanks hun , I just need it done as really starting to worry something is seriously wrong because of all the pain, but all I seem to get is well it's because you have endo but my body isn't that it's telling me something is wrong with my bowel.

Yeah I've tried all those things heat pad and Tens and it helps a little but I'm still in awful pain😣.

Thanks for replying hun xx

Hi Jo,

You wrote to me last week that you are 7 weeks after surgery? Is that correct.

I'm still confused myself as I have similar pains (14 weeks after my laparoscopy). But in my case its normal (assessed by specialist)

The pain is mostly there all the time but it peeks in shooting pain. It feels like just after cervix going from my back to the front. Lying down is mostly comfortable. Sitting down or standing hurts.

I saw my Endo specialist last week privately (I found him on Lindes list :) so he is Endo specialist)

He told me that the first 3 months are very unpredictable & that my pain is caused by nerve damage. He prescribed antidepressants for pain on a top of the meds I already take.

Its scary to not know if the pain level is still ok. But if it is that bad ask your GP at least for a scan for them to check nothing went wrong. (My GP was happy to) before your check up? Or they might try to speed up your check up.

Hope you feel better soon.

Xxx

Hi lovely.

Thank you for your reply thay right 8 weeks now.

It's there dully all the time then it builds to the point i feel like I'm being down there.

My consultant is endo specialist but I haven't got follow up until June and I have Adenomyosis aswell.

I'm on anti depressants for night to to help relax the muscles but the pain is still bad I didn't sleep well again last night.

Yes i think I will as for a scan for them to Check. Thanks for your help and I hope it gets better for you to xx

Hi, this is my first post on here. I've had endometriosis for a few years. After an op that went a tad wrong I've been on depo and it's been working until lately (I will leave for another time). I have stabbing pains like this, pain gets so bad I pass out. Think that might be a reaction to my blood pressure being low and the pain being bad makes blood pressure drop suddenly. I get it more in both bottom and front. Luckily not every day but it's started happening more. I'm on a lot of pain relief due to other illnesses and endo.

When I feel it's starting I have to lie down then take some extra morphine as quick as I can. But to be honest the best thing I've found that works are beddy bears that you heat in the microwave (I've got them all around the house and use them for all my pains). I also, silly as it sounds, put a hair bobble around my wrist and ping it. Apparently if your brain feels small amounts of pain somewhere else in your body it confuses your pain receptors. I can only do it on one wrist because the other is numb and is does look quite funny but it really does work. Lastly, if you can, try having a warm bath. I used to do this all the time when I had this type of pain (before the fainting started), even had my hubby running me baths at 3am sometimes. I can't get in the bath anymore but think it'd help better than any drugs.

I hope you manage to get this sorted. If it continues try going to your GP to see if they can give you something to help until you have your follow up appointment.
