Just spent half the night on the toilet floor with pain so bad I kept passing out . I have had months of very little pain then out of nowhere this happened , it’s made me wonder why it can go like this . I think I need to get serious about getting help , I’m going to the Gp and asking for a gynaecologist federal ASAP. I don’t know why we let ourselves suffer so bad but it’s almost as soon as the pain is gone it’s just such a huge relief that you block it out

If the pain is getting this bad take yourself to a&e if Doctors is closed, don’t suffer. Not sure what they can do but at least they can give you stronger pain relief and it will be on record that you attended and you can tell GP about your visit. I suffered for 4 hours before I couldn’t take anymore and went to a&e and lucky I did as I had an infection. If you are still in the same amount of pain go today. Hope you feel better soon x
Thanks Laura, mercifully it has stopped now, it usually only lasts a few hours with me. I did go to A + E last time it was like this and got referred for a US which they said was fine. I know deep down I’m not fine but keep getting nowhere with the doctors when I go which is what puts me off.
If they don’t listen to you take someone that is more assertive that will not take no for answer. Also If you have a bit of spare money ask to be referred to a gynaecologist privately. I couldn’t wait the 6months plus to see one so I paid £130 to see one and I was seen within a week, from there I was told I needed lap and asked it be done on nhs. I was lucky my GP was on the ball and everything was so quick with me but I know that some GPs just don’t listen, which is awful. Keep on at them until you get the outcome you want, be strong, you know your body and something is wrong x
I hadn’t even thought about private , and that’s pretty reasonable price wise I’d say !
That was when this all started with me about 9 years ago. Whether different consultants in different areas charge different rates I don’t know know. But you can check where’s near you and ask how much a consultation would cost and go from there. The only thing Is your GP will need to send a referral off you can’t ref yourself. Worth a try if you get seen quicker but if you do make sure you say any further testing must be on nhs. Good luck and hope you get answers soon x
Thank you x
Hi. My private gynae was £250 last November but well worth the money- NHS one was incompetent. But chose to then be referred to him via nhs as treatment too expensive for me to pay for. Took a few months. But got my diagnosis and feel confident in him. Plus only way my GP told me I could get specialist endo help because of way referrals work where I live. She actually recommended him based on a previous patient's experience. Hope you make some progress. Xxx
