HELP!!!!! My endometriosis is causing me so much pain.

I am in so much pain. I am currently have decapeptyl injections with HRT and have the mirena coil fitted... Consultant has refused another surgery as it has only been a year since my last one. I am having to many hot flushes to have a hot water bottle on my belly however I am trying. Pain killers don't touch it :-(

:-( I wish I could give you some advice or some words of comfort..... :-( Its just rubbish though. Im not sure if it helps at all but I am starting to think about changing my diet and have cut out dairy and caffeine...im also trying to lose weight- no change in symptoms so far but worth a shot?

What are the injections like? My surgeons keep talking about them but I am just not sure.....

Chin up though hun xx

I have just started slimming world and since starting I am feeling the pain more which is prob in my mind but I think the comfort food used to make me forget lol.

This is my second stint of the injections, they worked first time and the symptoms minimised if not went completely however this time round they haven't helped. They do give the side effects of the menopause (hot sweats and so on) so at 26 it was embarrassing but I am open to give anything a go.

Hope things go ok with you.

Oh lol! Well thats no good.... comfort once a week then :-)

The injections just scare me so interesting to hear from someone who is on them...I do hope they work for you though. Its crap isn't it- so many people don't understand this stupid condition either. You look fine on the outside so people don't understand how much pain your in, how tired you get or how crabby it makes you!

My other half doesn't understand at all... Just things I am lazy and moaning. I try and carry on like normal going to work and doing things but sometimes I find it hard to get up. Last time the injections did really help so I had 6 months comfort (you have them once a month for 6months). It might be worth it for you. You shouldn't have them for longer then 6 months tho. I am now taking anti depressants because mentally it destroys me as well. Xx

Your other half needs to wise up and face just how much hell so many eomen suffer with Endo

My daughter and 1 grandaughter also suffer and my husbands mother had a hysterectomy age 36 because of it

Whats worse is the uselessness of the entire medical profession

He used to be really good but now says I moan to much and use it as an excuse. I am really sorry to hear so many of your family have suffered, I have already asked millions of times for a hysterectomy but the doctors said I am too young. The doctors have been awful at times. I looked at going private (not that I could really afford it but am at wits end) but it's the same bloody doctor xx

Having a hysterectomy too young will cause trouble furthur down the line but i understand how you feel

My daughter is 43 and she is likely to have the op soon

Surely you can see a more sympathetic doctor out of area

I have seen several docs since this came to light at the age of 17. The last one that saw me 2 months ago wanted to operate but her boss the overall consultant said no :-( X

How old are you ?

Why do they not think about the horrendous side effects of their drugs

I am 26... These decapeptyl injections make me feel like an old lady (awful thing to say but it's the only way I no how to explain it) and my mental state because of it all is a different conversation entirely... I am currently going back through the insomnia stage. xx

Oh dear at just 26 thats just appalling

You should not have to live like that

Thank you, I no there are worse of people in the world and I am normally so good at not feeling sorry for myself but today it became a bit too much. Thank you for talking with me. It's so nice to talk to people who get it without having to go into all the details of what it is. Xx

I know how many times i had to collect my daughter ftom work because she collapsed with the pain...3 pregnancies quietened things down for a while

Has your thyroid function been properly tested because it often runs with endo and they seldom interpret tests correctly

Reply

They have done the usual blood tests for thyroid and said it was ok xx

"ok " means nothing that I can assure you when it comes to thyroid

get hold of the actual results
