Day one of my period and it has already made me crying on the bathroom floor from the pain and vomiting š« I donāt know how much longer I can take having this amount of pain at each period as nothing eases it. Iāve tried so many strong painkillers, hot water bottle, hot showers and the foetal position.
I have been referred to an endo specialist but apparently the waiting list is 42 weeks! I donāt know if to email her secretary and ask for more information as my life is so affected by this and pretty much just stops for the duration of my period as I canāt function.

What medication have you tried? The pain consultant who is part of the endo team suggested amitriptyline about five/six weeks ago to help nerve pain and I think itās starting to help, not perfect, not as bad.
Good idea to chase for when your appointment is and to ask for advice. Your GP can also message them through the online system they have. I learnt a lot through covid period š¤£
The pain clinic nurse who I saw at A & E gave me Tramadol and said it works differently than meds like codeine and Co-codamol for endo. Then a couple of weeks later saw the consultant. I still take the odd Tramadol or Oramorph. Have another chat with GP. Tell them itās urgent and your struggling. Iāve also tried Nefopam, ok to a point.
Her secretary replied really quickly and seems a lot nicer than my old consultants one. Sheās going to try and get me a telephone appointment for October and told me to email the endometriosis nurse with my symptoms to see if she will give me some advice x
