Lap done. No endo. Upset and confused.

Hi all

I'm just home from having my first lap. I was down in theatre for just over an hour so I imagine they had a good look around. Sadly no endometriosis was found, yet I still experience pain with sex, cramping after sex/orgasm (sometimes the worst part) random back and bad leg aches and some bad cramps during period accompanied by ibs and lots of clotting etc (on the pill anyway so often not too bad - sorry if tmi) I imagine they didn't 'miss' it because I was down a long time and she specifically told me after 'no endometriosis' so I've been referred back to my GP as it could be a gastro issue... I fail to see how this could cause issues with periods and sex mind you. Just feel gutted as all the signs were there, doctors thought it may be but it turns out it isn't and I have this cocktail of symptoms that I now will probably be told I just have to live with :( guess it's recovery time now... Currently still slightly under the effects of anaesthetic but definitely feeling the gas pains! Any advice or knowledge of what this could be, if it's still possible to be? Would be great. Thanks.

Hope all you lovely ladies are keeping well.

Were you treated by a BSGE consultant? Your symptoms sound like endo in the Pouch of Douglas which can be hard to find and general gynaecologists tend to only concentrate on the uterus and ovaries. Might be worth getting a referral to a BSGE clinic.

I would request referral to bsge consultant. I was told several years ago that I had minimal Endo. After seing a Bsge consultant and recent Lap. I was diagnosed with stage 4 Endo plus adenomyosis. Which has all the symptoms you are experiencing. Request MRI with specialist clinic. X Don't give up if you're not getting the answers you need.

Took me 12yrs to be diagnosed and was told it was all in my head many times.

Best wishes xxx

Hi,

If its not endo,i wld suggest and ultrasound for pelvic congestion.

It sounds like something is pinching somewhere inside especially since you mention the orgasm pain,it sounds like vein or nerve related.

Did they do a curette at all?

If not im surprised they didnt because the uterus contracts with orgasm and the heavy periods pain etc is related to the uterus sometimes.could be a fibroid in there, that also causes heavy clots.

Hope you are ok,get them to look in the uterus if they didnt and have that pelvic ultrasound done by a vascular vein surgeon to look at the veins in the pelvis.

Keep trying to get to the bottom of it,dont give up

Kind regards

Rose

I am amazed at the amount of times a lap is done without a curette.

It buys you time after a lap before the period hits you,and resets your clock,if you have a hormonal imbalance it will right it for a time.

Another thought is iron levels.

When my iron is low the clots are larger.
