Cystoscopy tomorrow

Hi

I'm having a cystoscopy procedure tomorrow to see if endo is affecting inside of my bladder as well as my bowel and general pelvic region. Has anyone had one, was it v painful? I'm quite nervous. Thx

I had a cystoscopy last year it wasnt too bad it just hurts to pee for a few days after just keep up with pain relief and rest for a few days after. Are you having a general anesthetic? x

I had one last year I had a general so had a nice sleep and woke up when it was all over,my advice would be drink as much as possible in the first 24 hours it hurts to pee afterwards,but just take pain killers and take it easy and you will be fine.

Thx I'm a bit worried as having a local and supposed to be back at work tomorrow!

I've had quite a few now. A few under GA but most under local anaesthetic and it really is fine. Once the gel has been squirted into your urethra it really doesn't hurt although you can can obviously sense the cystoscope going in but it isn't painful as such. Plus it's so fast to reach your bladder. Promise you'll be fine. X
