Period pain after lap

Hi, I had my first lap a month ago at an endo centre, & was told they had removed all endo (which was sticking both ovaries & my bowel to my uterus).

I have been on tablets from my Dr as the nausea has been so bad. But I think this is because I stopped taking codeine, which I'd been taking daily for 9 months for the pain. I've tried taking 2 types of the pill, but can't take due to emotional side effects. I started my period today & I'm really sore. Why? Is it because I'm still tender from the lap? I was really hoping the lap would be the end of it. Is there anything else I can do?
