Confused...

Hi,

I'm 22yrs old. ive been on 15 different types of pills since I was 15. I started my period when I was 13 and have very heavy and painful period since. the doctors have tried me on different types of pills (combined and non) some seem to help for about 18months max but all end with sever bloatedness, sickness and headaches.

on some occasions with the pill I've had bladder infection symptons and have had a scan for cysts that came back negative. I get chronic back pain that sends my muscles into spasm and stops me walking as well as stomach cramps. I'm constantly having to take time off work and see the doctors about all this and they just keep telling me I have sever period pains and try me on new pills, I've been told by my latest doctor that I'm running out of pill options to take as the dosages are to high for my hormone levels.

One of my mums friends said to look up the symptoms on here and see if they match so I just want to know if this sounds like it could be a cause of endometriosis.

hope you can help

Yes it sounds like it could be, do you get any pain through out the month or just around period time?

Do you get pain during or after sex,?

Go back to your doctor with a full list if symptoms however slight you think they are, nauseous, tiredness, anything. That you don't think is quite right, and tell your GP, that unless they can say you havnt got endometriosis you want more tests to rule it out, he should send you for a gyne appointment and scans, endo dosnt show up on most scans but at least it will rule out other possible factors,

Very painfull periods are not normal, and gps should know this,

Good luck and don't give up fighting,

Xxx

I tend to get pain randomly but I also got diagnosed with ibs years ago so I always just put it down to that ovulation.

Thank you so much just wanna be able to get on now. My work doesn't understand how painful and hard this is, specially as I haven't got a diagnoses other than bad period yet.

I jave both endo and ibs so you can have both. Definitely get checked out for a gynocological disorder if youve been unwell enough to try 15 different pills. Thats a lot of treatment not working. You may need surgery instead since youve obviously tried your best with medication.

It's gotten to the point I asked for a hysterectomy but the doctors refuse cause I'm too young. Just feel like they Dnt care and aren't bothered with helping me.

I was exactly the same as you- I'm 22 I got diagnosed at 15 but that took time too! I had to beg for a laparoscopy because I tried alsorts of pills and none worked! Definitely talk to your doctor about being referred to a gynaecologist x
