Home and recovering following diagnostic Laparoscopy and hysteroscopy yesterday. Extensive endometriosis and adenymosis found and some nodules removed. Next step hysterectomy. So glad to finally have answers and a plan of action. Feeling positive about the future and getting my life back.

Finally diagnosed
So glad you looking forward to getting your life back Hun, can I ask how long you waited for lap xxxx
It's great in a weird way to be the answers, I was diagnosed with Adeno and ENdo in April, had afew bits of Endo removed, and then in july had a hysterectomy for the adeno, and the rest of endo removed, 13 weeks on and I feel much better, not quite100% tho,
I was under a genral gyne surgeon, and the endo was/is on my utero ligament, which is recto endo, and is an area that is considered servere/complex
I think I have recovered well from the hysterectomy, but feel I still have endo symptons,
Can I ask if you are being seen at a specialist bsge centre, the genes at these centres are much more qualified to deal with endo excision,
Ive since been back to the Gp to get reffered to one, awaiting date,
Good luck
Xxx
Hi, just so you are aware having endo on your uterosacral ligaments (or in pouch of douglas) does not definitely mean you have "true" rectovaginal endometriosis. It's possible to have superficial disease there (even if it's extensive) but that wouldn't really be classed as rectovaginal endo.
Superficial rectovaginal disease isn't really "rectovaginal" because it only involves the peritoneum overlying these structures, and does not actually involve the rectum or vagina itself. That's the key difference between severe rectovaginal endometriosis and superficial endometriosis pouch of douglas. I hope that helps you understand. I'm concerned that Lindle is misleading many ladies on here about this.
Pleased to hear you finally have answers, and a plan in place. Good luck, and do make sure that if any more endo is found during your hysterectomy, they will excise it all at the same time. That will give you the best chance of relief, as a hysterectomy is only a treatment for adenomyosis not endo.
