Hi I have grade 4 endo. I am going in for an op to release the endo from all my organs inc my bowel. I am also having a myectomy. Has anyone had this surgery together. What's the recovery time ? Thanks.

Hi,

Here is a link re. Myomectomy

mayoclinic.org/tests-proced...

Regardless of how they do it I'd say 4-6 wks minimum as they're removing extensive endo as well. You'll be up and about more by 3wks but min of 6 until you feel more like yourself. Best advice rest as much as possible and don't strain yourself - you'll recover quicker xx

I agree with applebird. I had this done at the end of May. My surgeon said she'd sign me off work for 6 to 8 weeks. I felt fine after 4 weeks but healing can take a long time even if we don't really notice anything. It took a long time for my groin lymph nodes to go down.

A book that helped me prepare and recover was How to Recover Quickly From Surgery. I strongly recommend it. Good luck.

Hi Brownlow, Thank you for your reply which I found very useful as I am also due to have a myomectomy to remove fibriods before removal of severe Endo.

I am interested in reading the book you recommended, do you have the authors name so I can be sure I am getting the right book?

Many thanks in advance.

This is the book amazon.co.uk/Recover-Quickl...

£12 paperback but £6 on kindle. You don't need a kindle but can just download the free app for PC or phone.

She repeats herself a bit but all the principles are sound and worth doing.
